Cummins Aerospace is looking for a skilled Level 2 Quality Inspector to join our Quality Department and play a critical role in manufacturing aircraft landing gear. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic company that values growth and offers career advancement.
Level 2 Quality Inspector
Experience:
- Intermediate role requiring 2–5 years of relevant experience in aerospace quality inspection.
- May require certification or proficiency in specific techniques (e.g., ASNT Level II NDT, GD&T).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Performs complex inspections, including dimensional, functional, and advanced visual checks.
- Reviews and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, and standards independently.
- Uses advanced tools such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), optical comparators, or laser scanners.
- Conducts or supervises First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements.
- Identifies and documents non-conformances and may perform root cause analysis.
- Assists with process improvements and adherence to quality management systems (e.g., AS9100).
- May train or mentor Level 1 inspectors.
- Go the extra mile to meet deadlines. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around him/her.
- Perform cross-functional tasks as requested by management. Follow all company rules and policies.
- Work both individually and as part of a team to maximize productivity, efficiency, and quality
- Work and communicate in a professional manner with both internal and external personnel.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards (e.g., FAA regulations, AS9100, AS9102).
- Proficiency with inspection techniques and advanced equipment.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex quality issues.
